Steve Beuning
Senior Advisor, Market Design and Integration
An avid outdoorsman, Steve grew up in Minnesota and built a career in energy in Colorado. Steve was previously vice president, power supply and programs at Holy Cross Energy. He also spent 34 years at Xcel Energy in market operations and wholesale market design. Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, dog and friends.

Heidi Marie Larson, PE
Resource Planning & Strategy
Heidi grew up in Minnesota, but at a young age fell in love with the outdoors and the mountains. She moved west and earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wyoming followed by an M.B.A at the University of Denver. An experienced energy professional, Heidi has provided support for development, construction, and operation of more than 10 gigawatts of renewable energy projects. Heidi resides in the suburbs of Denver with her husband, two darling children and a sweet golden retriever named Tuuli.

Mindy Yajko
Director, Origination & Supply
After growing up on Colorado’s western slope, Mindy moved to New York City to Goldman Sachs, but soon returned to raise her twins in the mountains of Colorado. She has worked in origination and financial roles at companies including NRG Energy, Xcel Energy, Holy Cross Energy and Recurrent Energy.

Max Carpenter
Managing Director, Trading & Market Operations
Max has spent most of his career managing trading and market operations in California, most recently at South California Edison—a long way from the farm in Ohio where he grew up. He moved to Colorado to join Guzman in 2019, with his wife, four kids, and a new dog named Koda.
Guzman is an organization that was born from bold ideas and doesn’t let old-world thinking box them in.
