MEET THE TEAM
I am proud that we have lowered the price of electric power for every community that we serve and at the same time made it cleaner power.
What excites me the most is the team that we have at Guzman. Second only to who you marry, where you work is one of the most important decisions you will ever make, and we have a great team.
We came along and demonstrated that you don’t have to sit and pay these prices and be locked into these 50-year contracts. There is another choice. There is another path.
I fell in love with the combination of everything that the company stood for—market forces contributing to cleaner energy, really taking care of rural communities, and serving people who are otherwise underserved.
Guzman is a fascinating story of disruption. When you start to see beyond the tip of the iceberg, you can’t help but share the excitement.
The things that I work on change the economics of the communities that we work with, and increase their ability to control their future.

Senior Executive Advisor,
Kurt was born in Utah, but has spent most of his life in Colorado. Kurt has more than 35 years of experience in the energy field—first at Xcel Energy, then with Guzman. It’s a dedication only surpassed by his marriage to his wife, Mary.
Director of Resource Planning

Managing Director, Trading & Market Operations
Max has spent most of his career managing trading and market operations in California, most recently at South California Edison—a long way from the farm in Ohio where he grew up. He moved to Colorado to join Guzman in 2019, with his wife, four kids, and a new dog named Koda.
Guzman is an organization that was born from bold ideas and doesn’t let old-world thinking box them in.
