Mike Ott

Chief Financial Officer

Mike’s career has been a blend of the finance, energy and sustainability worlds. He was drawn from Wall Street to Guzman Energy because of the company’s well-known dedication to building a transformative utility model that offers transparent and reliable energy solutions to U.S. communities and organizations. Prior to serving as CFO at Guzman Energy, Mike was a senior member of BlackRock’s Infrastructure Group, now combined with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). During his tenure, Mike was responsible for originating and structuring new opportunities and overseeing portfolio management of existing investments in the Americas region. He was also tasked with leading due diligence efforts and serving on the board of numerous portfolio companies. Mike oversaw over $5 billion of capital markets activity on behalf of funds and portfolio companies under his management during his time at BlackRock.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mike worked on both the M&A and project financing teams at EDF Renewables, where he was responsible for managing M&A and joint venture structuring for utility scale power generation assets.

A NCAA division 1 swimmer, Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, an MBA from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and an MS in Sustainable Energy Systems from University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability.
