Alluvial Power, Delta-Montrose Electric Association and Guzman Energy Host Ribbon Cutting to Inaugurate 80 MW Solar Power Generation Site Serving Colorado’s Western Slope
DENVER & DELTA, Colo. – September 30, 2025 – The 80 MW Garnet Mesa Solar farm in Delta County CO has begun commercial operations. The unique facility maintains the agricultural heritage of western Colorado while providing an important new source of renewable power generation.
Developed by Alluvial Power, Garnet Mesa Solar generates over 200,000 MWh of electricity annually, enough to power 18,000 homes. The new power generation site provides renewable energy to local community power cooperative Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) as well as wholesale power provider Guzman Energy. DMEA is a Guzman Energy wholesale customer.
Sheep grazing is an important element of the site as it preserves the local community’s desire to prioritize agricultural land use while also providing a sustainable solution to vegetation management. Sperry Livestock is the sheep grazing partner and the facility has capacity for over 600 sheep.
Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony included State of Colorado Energy Office Executive Director Will Toor as well as community commissioners.
